Five new sesquiterpenoid dimers, sarcandrolides FâJ (1â5), three new sesquiterpenoid monomers (6â8), and 14 known sesquiterpenoids, were isolated from the whole plants of Sarcandra glabra. The absolute configurations of compounds 1â5 were established by the CD exciton chirality method. Compound 1 represents the first example of a lindenane-type sesquiterpenoid dimer bearing a hydroperoxy group at C-5. Compounds 1 and 3 exhibited cytotoxicity against the HL-60 cell line with IC50 values of 0.03 and 1.2 μM, respectively.
