Total chemical synthesis of polypeptides and proteins: chemistry of ligation techniques and beyond

Ligation methods work on a chemoselective capture step followed by an intramolecular acyl transfer. An elaborated account of native chemical ligation along with selected case studies is furnished. Expressed protein ligation, traceless Staudinger ligation and the O→N acyl migration protocol (click or switch peptide chemistry) are also dealt with.
