Abstract
The first cryptand/monopyridinium salt [3]pseudorotaxanes were prepared from two cryptand hosts and two bispyridinium guests as confirmed by proton NMR characterization, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, and X-ray analysis. It was found that the two monopyridinium binding sites are independent of each other for the formation of one [3]pseudorotaxane.
