A facile stereoselective synthesis of (Z)-α-arylsulfonyl-α,β-unsaturated ketones

An efficient and stereoselective one-pot method for the synthesis of (Z)-α-arylsulfonyl-α,β-unsaturated ketones has been developed by the tandem hydro-stannylation-Stille coupling reactions of acetylenic sulfones with tributyltin hydride and acyl chlorides.
