Abstract
Porphyrins with N4, N3S, and N2S2 cores having one, two, three, and four meso-furyl groups were synthesized. Spectral study indicated that there is a systematic alteration in spectral properties of the porphyrin on increasing the number of meso-furyl groups from one to four.
