Abstract
A cheap and recyclable task-specific ionic liquid N, N, N-trimethyl-N-propanesulfic acid ammonium hydrogen sulfate [TMPSA] · HSO4 was used as the catalyst for the synthesis of quinoxaline derivatives. The reaction could be accomplished in water as well as organic solvent, and the satisfactory results were obtained under the mild conditions. The products could be separated from the catalyst simply by filtration and the catalyst could be recycled and reused for several times without noticeably decreasing the catalytic activity.
