Abstract
The synthetic pathways leading to these compounds involved some interesting chemistry of hindered peptides. It was found that the crystalline mixed anhydride of benzyloxycarbonyl-aminoisobutyric and pivalic acids rearranges on heating to give the symmetrical anhydride of benzyloxycarbonylaminoisobutyric acid.
