Abstract
A novel three-dimensional microporous ruthenium (II,III) polymer complex, [Ru2II,III(H2TCPP)]BF4 (1) (H2TCPP = 4,4′,4′,4‴-(21H,23H-porphine-5,10,15,20-tetrayl)tetrakis benzoic acid) was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, TG/DTA, magnetic susceptibility, FT-IR, diffuse reflectance UV–Vis, ESR, X-ray powder diffraction, BET analysis, and nitrogen and oxygen adsorption measurements. Complex 1 exhibited an effective catalytic performance for the heterogeneous oxidation of various types of alcohols, particularly primary aliphatic alcohols, with molecular oxygen and air without any additives at room temperature.
