Abstract
A simple pyridinium-based chiral receptor 1 containing l-valine as the chiral source has been designed and synthesized. The receptor 1 fluorometrically recognizes d-lactate over l-lactate in CH3CN with enantiomeric fluorescence difference ratio (ef) of 5.32.
