'Click' chemistry as a tool for the facile synthesis of fullerene glycoconjugate derivatives

A bis-malonate C60 derivative bearing terminal alkyne groups prepared by the Bingel reaction has been used as a building block under copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition conditions to produce a series of new fullerene glycoconjugate derivatives.
