Abstract
												Stereoselective synthesis of (â)-centrolobine, an anti-Leishmania agent, was accomplished via an intramolecular Barbier-type reaction of iodo-ester with n- or t-butyllithium followed by Lewis acid-promoted Et3SiH reduction of the resulting hemiacetal.
