Abstract
By reacting 3a-methylglycoluril and glycoluril with paraformaldehyde, monomethyl cucurbit[6]uril was synthesized in 14% yield. The new host molecule forms stable inclusion complexes with diamine and hexylaminocarbazole derivatives.
