Abstract
Fischer carbene complexes having long alkynyloxy chains regioselectively produced oxametacyclophanes via the intramolecular Dötz reaction. The utility of this reaction was demonstrated in the synthesis of arnebinol, an ansa-type terpenoid, from geranyl acetate in six steps.
