Abstract
This paper reports the promotional effects of Co on hydrocracking activity of non-sulfide Ni–H3PW12O40/SiO2 catalysts. A series of catalysts prepared by impregnation method were evaluated in fixed-bed reactor. The physico-chemical properties of samples were determined by NH3 and H2 chemisorption, H2-TPR and XPS. Addition of Co to Ni–H3PW12O40/SiO2 catalysts increases the hydrocracking activity of catalysts. The best result is obtained on catalyst with 1% Co loading. The experimental results suggested hydrocracking activity of catalysts is consistent with the amount of the Ni0 on the catalysts surface in a certain extent. Co acts as a chemical modifier.
