Abstract
Two symmetrical and one unsymmetrical 'push-pull' amphiphilic 2,2â²-bipyridine chromophores have been synthesized through Horner-Wordsworth-Emmons and Knoevenagel reaction mechanized synthetic protocols and characterized by spectroscopy. Linear optical properties and thermal stability of the synthesized chromophores have been investigated.
