Abstract
The complex Na4[I2(μ-O)2O6(OH)2] · 8H2O has been synthesised and characterized by elemental analysis, Raman, infrared, electronic and 127I NMR spectra, and thermal measurements. This complex was found to be an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the epoxidation of linear and cyclic olefins in the presence of molecular oxygen in the absence of sacrificial reductant.
