Abstract
At low hydroxide ion concentrations, the photoaddition of phthalimide to cyclohexene, indene or styrene derivatives takes place. A photoinduced SET mechanism is proposed for the process, where phthalimide acts as sensitizer and phthalimide anion as nucleophile.
