Abstract
Aerobic oxidation of alkyl arenes to the corresponding carbonyl compounds was developed using a combined catalytic system consisting of N-hydroxy phthalimide and silica supported cobalt(II) tetrasulfophthalocyanine at 80 °C. The supported Na4[CoTSPc] can be recycled and reused for five runs without any significant loss of catalytic activity.
