Abstract

- Mesoporous N/In2O3-TiO2 nanocomposite materials were prepared by sol-gel route.
- N/In2O3-TiO2 shifted the light absorption band-edge position to visible region.
- 0.3 wt% N/In2O3-TiO2 showed high surface area, pore volume and pore size.
- N− and In3+ substitution enhanced adsorption of 2,4-DNP and OH− ions.
- Indium doping efficiently extended the life time of electron-hole pair.
