Abstract
Inhibition efficiencies for freshly abraded and pre-corroded low alloy steels after 96Â h immersion. Pre-corrosion has a detrimental effect on the inhibitor performance. In the presence of 1.2195Â ÃÂ 10â5Â mol/l inhibitor, the inhibition efficiencies for low alloy steel pre-corroded for 2Â h, 24Â h and 48Â h are 71.9%, 4.8% and 19.1%, respectively, while these values are increased to 96.4%, 81.5%, 84.8%, when the inhibitor concentration increases to 2.4390Â ÃÂ 10â5Â mol/l.
