Abstract
- Activated carbons have been prepared from Fox nutshell with chemical activation using ZnCl2.
- The thermal behavior of the raw material and impregnated raw material has been carried out by thermogravimetric analysis.
- The characterizations of the prepared activated carbons have been determined by nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms, FTIR, XRD, and FESEM.
- The BET surface area and total pore volume of prepared activated carbon has been obtained as 2869Â m2/g, 2124Â m2/g, and 1.96Â cm3/g, respectively.
- The microporous surface area, micropore volume, and microporosity percentage of prepared activated carbon has been obtained as 2124Â m2/g, 1.68Â cm3/g, and 85.71%, respectively.
