Abstract

- Structural states of B2 and B19′ phases in the modified NiTi surface zone were analyzed depending on beam energy density.
- The surface structure was examined by XRD analysis and transmission electron microscopy.
- The formation of the martensite phase in the surface or intermediate NiTi layers depends on the beam energy density.
- The factors responsible for changes in the chemical composition of NiTi surface layers after electron beam treatment were analyzed.
