Abstract
- We found that a rutile TiO2(1Â 0Â 0) surface exhibits biphased structure.
- The two domains are distinguished by their morphological height and hydrophilicity.
- Domain arrangement depends on the initial atomic steps before annealing.
- A self-assembled monolayer is selectively formed on the hydrophilic domains.
