Green preparation of carbon dots with mangosteen pulp for the selective detection of Fe3+ ions and cell imaging

Carbon dots were synthesized by a simple calcined method, using mangosteen pulp as carbon source, without the assistance of any chemical reagent. These M-CDs show strong blue fluorescence, which were quenched by Fe3+ and can be used for cell imaging.
