Abstract
- Polymerization of supported tungstate increases the surface acidity.
- The polymerization is hampered by strong tungstate/support interactions.
- Hence, the polymerization is more facilitated on titania than alumina or silica.
- Polymeric tungstate exposes strong Lewis and Bronsted acid sites.
- Tungstate/titania yields an optimally active and selective dehydration catalyst.
