Abstract

- Superhydrophobic membranes with different surface morphologies were prepared.
- Anti-corrosion ability of prepared membranes was tested in both corrosive solution and humid air.
- Compared with the chemical composition, the surface morphology plays a more important role in anti-corrosion ability in humid air.
- Tafel plots and the water repellency are proved to be not adequate to evaluate the corrosion resistance in the practical environment.
- Superhydrophobic membranes with low surface roughness and small particle size exhibit good corrosion resistance.
