Abstract
- We fabricated nanocrystalline Al and some of its alloys by mechanical alloying method.
- The corrosion behavior of the fabricated materials in natural seawater was reported.
- We found that Al suffers both uniform and localized corrosion in the seawater.
- The presence of Cu significantly decreased the corrosion of Al.
- The addition of Ti to the Al-Cu alloy presented more protection to Al against corrosion.
