Abstract
In this work, a new model material consisting of unidirectional CVI-C/SiC was prepared and ground to investigate the grinding mechanism of the woven ceramic matrix composites. The composite was ground in three typical directions and the experimental investigation of the surface grinding process is described. In addition, the micro structural characteristics and grinding mechanism of the composite were analyzed. Finally, the effect of fiber orientations on surface grinding process of unidirectional C/SiC composites was obtained. In addition, the grinding mechanism of C/SiC was revealed.
