Abstract
⺠Fe-FexCy@C nanoparticles were obtained using laser pyrolysis technique. ⺠These nanoparticles present a high (110 A m2/kg) magnetization saturation (Ms). ⺠Hydrophilized Fe@C nanoparticles were coated by sol-gel with SiO2 or TiO2. ⺠Resulted nancomposites contain Fe@C cores surrounded by disordered/porous shell. ⺠Near superparamagnetic behavior and 26 or 57 A m2/kg Ms values were found.
