Abstract
▸ Crystalline, nanosize TiO2 particles were synthesized under reflux without calcination. ▸ Surface of nanoparticles were modified in situ with alkoxy groups of the solvent used. ▸ In situ surface-modified nanoparticles dispersed in both polar and non-polar media. ▸ Optically transparent TiO2 hydrosols were prepared. ▸ They have photocatalytically degraded Rhodamine B.
