Abstract
- Surface properties of alkyl- and fluoroalkyltrialkoxysilanes were studied.
- The compounds were used as surface modifiers to increase water repellency of glass.
- Surface tension, contact angle measurements and scanning electron microscopy were applied in the experiments.
- Superhydrophobic behaviour was shown by glass surface modified with fluoroalkylsilane and silica nanoparticles.
