Abstract

âº The structural and mechanical properties of coral and nacre used as bone substitute. âº The chemical composition of the nacre and coral are qualitatively similar to a bone. âº The percentage of porosity influences significantly the mechanical properties. âº A stress-life curve revealed an endurance limit to coral and nacre.
