Abstract
⺠A simple method to improve surface properties is applied to glassy polymers. ⺠Hydrolyzed TEOS was preferentially segregated at the surface of polystyrene. ⺠A few nm-thick polymer-inorganic hybrid layer was constructed at the film surface. ⺠The PS/TEOS films exhibited excellent wear resistance and anti-oxidant properties.
