Abstract
⺠Catalyst-free growth of carbon nanotips and nanotubes was comparatively studied. ⺠Their formation relates the change of carbon film with temperature. ⺠The electron field emission of carbon nanotips and nanotubes is studied. ⺠The structure of carbon nanotips is stable during electron emission.
