Abstract
► Amino-functionalized SBA-15 were prepared by co-condensation of TEOS and APTES. ► Functionalized SBA-15 were employed for the controlled release of emodin. ► Drug loading capacities were depended on the surface areas and pore diameters of the carriers. ► Functionalization of mesoporous SBA-15 could efficiently retard drug release and prolong release time period.
