Abstract
⺠Antibacterial steel surfaces with different copper content have been prepered. ⺠The antibacterial rate increased with increasing time of contacting the bacteria. ⺠The higher the amount of surface copper, the better is the antibacterial efficacy. ⺠Cu-ions were dissolved from the Cu-alloyed surface, killing the bacteria.
