Abstract
► We prepare a novel ZrC-SiC coating on carbon/carbon (C/C) composites surface by solid phase infiltration. ► We study the ablation properties of the coatings under oxyacetylene flame and analysis their ablation mechanism. ► Developing economical and high-efficiency approach to improve the ablation properties of C/C composites. ► Increasing information will useful to C/C composites for ultra high temperature and aerospace applications.
