Abstract
- Methodology for the functionalization of carbon nanofibers was investigated.
- Two radiation sources were used to promote grafting reactions: gamma and electron beam.
- We report the optimum inhibitor concentration to achieve the functionalization.
- Surface of carbon nanofibers showed an increase of oxygen content after irradiation.
- The radiation-induced graphitization did not damage the overall sp2 structure.
