Abstract
⺠TiO2 fibres grown by the laser floating zone technique for the first time. ⺠Magnetic, optical and structural characterization was performed. ⺠Structured luminescence with two zero-phonon lines followed by a phonon sideband. ⺠Fe3+ and Cr3+ present as substitutional impurities alongside with Ti3+ interstitials. ⺠A discussion of the chemical nature of the defect responsible for the luminescence is performed.
