Abstract
⺠Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene surface was modified with femtosecond laser pulses at 1027 nm wavelength. ⺠Surface roughness is increased. ⺠Ablation efficiency is maximum for 6 μJ pulses. ⺠Irradiated surfaces remain almost chemically unaltered.
