Abstract
► Phosphonic acid self assembled monolayers (SAMs) on cobalt chromium (Co-Cr) alloy. ► Oxidative stability determined by X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), uniformity and surface coverage confirmed by contact angle measurements, topographical confirmation by Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). ► Detailed high energy elemental XPS scans indicated presence the organic layer after exposure under oxidative conditions. ► The SAMs were stable under oxidative conditions over a period of 14 days.
