Abstract
⺠QCM-D and nanoplasmonic sensing enable submonolayer, in situ, real-time sensing of Al corrosion. ⺠Nanoplasmonic sensing results can be quantized by correlation to model calculations. ⺠Oxidation of Al nanodisks proceeds by two mechanisms: (i) growth of a homogeneous oxide layer, (ii) fragmentation and roughening.
