Abstract
⺠Silica nanowires are capable of very high surface hydroxyl concentrations. ⺠Surface hydroxyl concentration corresponds to the pH of aqueous storage media. ⺠Storage in DI water and basic solution results in a decrease in surface hydroxyls. ⺠Storage in acidic solution results in an increase in surface hydroxyls. ⺠Fibronectin binding is inhibited by storage in water or basic solution.
