Abstract
► Bi-PbO2 electrode modified with different concentrations of PEG was prepared. ► Morphology of Bi-PbO2 film was greatly changed by adulteration of PEG. ► Bi-PbO2 electrode modified with 8 g L−1 PEG exhibits the highest electro-catalytic activity for phenol degradation. ► PEG modified Bi-PbO2 electrode owns higher oxygen evolution potential and more negative flatband potential. ► PEG modification significantly reduces the adsorption resistance of Bi-PbO2 electrode for hydroxyl radicals (·OH).
