Abstract
Figure shows a scheme of interaction between ZnO rods with DNA strand and presents a Van der Waals force attraction between positive rod charges, generated by Zn+2 with the phosphodioxy group (OPOâ) DNA backbone. The improvement of the DNA Raman signal is due to changes in the charge distribution in the ZnO-DNA complex. Shifts in the bands from both the (OPOâ) group and the CO stretching modes in the complex chain C-O-P-O-C indicate compressive and tensile stresses of the bonds.
