Abstract
⺠Electron beam melting is successfully used to grow the novel structure during the reinforcement of SiC in Inconel 625 alloy. ⺠Novel structures like rod/wires, bamboo, pyramid, ribbon, terraces and tweezers are formed. ⺠The microhardness of the modified surface enhanced about two times as compared to the as-received alloy. ⺠Changes in the composition as well as the cooling rate affect the morphology of re-solidifying melts.
