Abstract
ⶠUltrashort laser ablation behavior in a interface between two solid media represents new challenges in the field. ⶠLaser ablation through interfaces of two materials was understood using ablation characteristics of each individual material. ⶠOnce one understands the threshold behavior for ablation, the variations on the geometry of ablated region at the interface can be predicted. ⶠThe size of ablation discontinuity at interface is dominated by the difference on the optical properties of the two mediun. ⶠThis procedure can be applied for understanding ablation geometry on structured materials.
