Abstract
► Upon exfoliation, oxygen containing groups are mostly on the outer surface of GO. ► The surface oxygen-containing groups also affect the metal particle size on GO. ► The Pt/GO catalyst has a higher tolerance to CO for methanol electro-oxidation. ► The Pt/GO catalyst as electrode has a good potential for application in DMFC.
