Abstract
⺠Cross-linking gelatin in the presence of hydroxyapatite forms composite membranes. ⺠The membrane was used for immunoisolation and encapsulation of cells. ⺠Encapsulated islet cells secrete insulin in response to glucose concentrations. ⺠The membrane is a good candidate for bioartificial pancreas development.
