Abstract
► Mn-doped ZnS sea urchin-like architectures were synthesized via a one-pot solvothermal route in a ternary solution. ► The sea urchin-like architectures were composed of nanorods, possessing a wurtzite structures and the preferred growth orientation of nanorods was the [0 0 2] direction. ► The possible formation mechanism was discussed. The optical properties of the products were analyzed by PL spectra.
